Hotel in Florence for Alchemy of colours, The Art of Scagliola. Free access exhibition for Florentine handicrafts lovers

If you love fine handicraft do not miss for any reason this exhibition in Florence. The scagliola technique, used to embellish architectural elements in sacred art, developed also in Florence since 1600. This inlay technique has become part of Florentine handicrafts in the last fifty years thanks to an artist-craftsman called Bianco Bianchi, who dedicated his life to this art. This exhibition is a tribute to him and his unmissable collection – today considered as the most complete in the world (approximately 130 pieces, from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century). Besides the antiques, visitors can admire the contemporary artifacts created by Bianco’s sons Alessandro ed Elisabetta Bianchi, who successfully continue to practice the art of scagliola.
