The Springtime of the Renaissance, unmissable arts exhibition at Strozzi Palace in Florence
The Springtime of the Renaissance. Sculpture and the Arts in Florence 1400-60 is the title of the new exhibition held at Strozzi Palace in Florence, a great event that aims to show the origins of the Renaissance, still worldwide considered a "miracle". Renaissance is Florence itself and this exhibition concentrates on the art of sculpture between 1400 and 1460.
Florence at the time had two major construction sites, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Church of Orsanmichele. In these two sites all the greatest sculptors of the time worked and exchanged ideas and skills, and from these places all painters which were to create the Renaissance style, took their inspiration and influence, among them Masaccio, Paolo Uccello, Filippo Lippi.
All works come from the most important museums in the world and will be exhibited in Florence from 29 March to 18 August 2013, they will then be transfered to the Louvre in Paris and there exhibited from 26 Semptember 2013 to 6 January 2014.
